In Uttar Pradesh, 13 people died due to lightning. These casualties occurred in Prayagraj, Sambhal, Bijnor, Gorakhpur. In Maharashtra, 9 people have also died in rain incidents including lightning. While the situation in Kerala is getting worse due to heavy to very heavy rains in the south. Schools and colleges have been closed in many districts of Kerala. Among the 13 people who have died due to lightning in Uttar Pradesh, four members of the same family are also included. In Sonvarsha village of Prayagraj, Virendra Vanvasi, his wife Parvati and two daughters were sleeping in a house with a bamboo roof at night when lightning struck them. Due to which all four people died on the spot. Two people were killed by lightning while working in a field in Bijnor. On the other hand, on Sunday, Kerala also received heavy rains with strong winds in many areas, due to which many trees fell down while the rivers crossed the danger level. Due to which most of the dams had to be opened. Considering this situation of heavy rain in Kerala, holidays have been declared in schools and colleges of Mallapuram, Kannur, Kasaragod, Wayanad, Thrissur districts. Some incidents of houses collapsing were reported, although there are no reports of casualties. Heavy rains also disrupted normal life in Karnataka. Landslides have also been reported in some areas. Especially in Mangaluru, urban areas were heavily waterlogged, and a landslide was reported in Kettikallu. Maharashtra has also received heavy rains.
