Despite the fact that every thing based on cow dung and cow urine, including the cow dung of the native cow, is easily available, we are being deprived of its many benefits, so to return to that direction, a collective cow dung bath was jointly organized by the Sangh’s Gau Seva movement of West Kutch and Raymaldham of Anjar as an innovative experiment. 29 people from Anjar city and surrounding areas, including doctors, lawyers, industrialists, farmers, cowherds and storytellers, joined this collective bath and experienced immediate refreshment after learning about its physical and mental benefits. Meghjibhai Hirani, the coordinator of the Saurashtra province of the Gau Seva movement and skilled in its sale and training with more than 80 cow dung producers, said that cow dung bath is a traditional method of Ayurveda. It helps in increasing the body’s immunity, keeping the skin healthy and reducing stress. Dhaneshwar Shastri of Raymaldham Ashram gave information about the scriptural importance of cow dung bath. Deepakbhai Patel, a member from Saurashtra province, said that cow products have been used in Ayurveda for centuries. The participants described the experience as unique and energizing. The main ingredient in the methodical cow dung bath is a mixture of local cow dung along with sandalwood powder, cow ghee, milk, curd and cow urine, which is applied to the body and rubbed.
