The government has claimed that out of a total of 364 bridges in Ahmedabad and other municipal corporation areas, 231 bridges are in good condition. There are three such bridges in Ahmedabad that are in a dilapidated state. The government has admitted that 26 bridges in Surat are in a dilapidated state. 2 in Vadodara, 3 in Junagadh, 2 in Jamnagar, 2 in Navsari are dilapidated. There are many dangerous bridges in Gujarat that are waiting for an accident. Till now, traffic on these dangerous bridges was normal. But after the Gambhira Bridge accident, the government has realized the safety of the people, so the movement of vehicles on 97 dangerous bridges has been immediately suspended. However, the daily employment of the locals has been affected due to the diversion. Students have had to face hardships in going to school. Traders are facing difficulties due to the diversion of heavy goods vehicles. Now the State Roads and Construction Department has started working.
