40 inches of rain in 5 days in China causes devastation, fields and bridges submerged

Continuous heavy rains in southern China for the past 5 days have caused flooding, landslides and bridge collapses. Continuous heavy rains have disrupted normal life in Guangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou and Jianchi provinces. The flood control authority has declared a level four emergency due to the heavy rains. Heavy rains are expected in the next few days. The heaviest rainfall fell in Northern Liuzhou and Guangxi, where 40 inches of rain fell in five days. Guangxi received 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain per hour. While Qinzhou received 7.5 inches of rain per hour. Due to which local rivers started flowing at an alarming rate of more than 1 to 1.5 feet. Due to which flood waters surged in urban and rural areas. Power outages caused darkness and internet services were also disrupted in some districts. Continuous heavy rains in Guangzhou province washed away the Huzhi Grand Bridge over the Duliu River. The approach road to the bridge, located between Sandu County and Rongjiang City, was washed away in two hours. The driver of a truck passing through was rescued. On June 24, the water level in the Duliu River rose to 36 feet.
