Police has busted the notorious 71-71 Lala gang active in Kotwali Hata police station area. 12 members of this gang, who spread terror by posting videos with illegal weapons on social media, have been arrested in a joint operation by the police and SWAT team. Three pistols, live cartridges, a motorcycle, 10 mobile phones and cash have been recovered from them. According to the information, this gang used to post videos of illegal arms and sharp weapons by creating an account named ’71-71′ on the social media platform. The gang members used to present themselves as dons in threatening language and violent manner. In view of the seriousness of the matter, a special team was formed on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Kushinagar Santosh Kumar Mishra. On July 21, when the police and SWAT team were checking near Chaknarainpur Vidyalaya, three suspicious youths were seen coming on a motorcycle. When stopped, they opened fire on the police. The police acted swiftly and arrested all three on the spot. Based on the information received from them, nine other accomplices were also arrested. The arrested accused include 12 people including Arbaaz Ali, Zuber alias Lala, Afroz Khan, Aqib Khan, Ravi Barnwal. A case has been registered against all of them under sections of IT Act, Arms Act and BNS. The police is now investigating the social media network, financial sources and other associates of this gang. The administration has called this action a big success, which has sent a strong message against crime in the district.
