Two months ago, when his health deteriorated, his family called him to the village. It is said that late at night Manoj, after having dinner at home, went out for a walk as he was feeling hot and was going towards his uncle’s tailoring shop intersection. During this time, the villagers mistook him for a goat thief and tied him to an electric pole with a rope and beat him mercilessly with sticks. During this time, the young man Manoj kept begging for mercy but the bullies kept beating him. On hearing the screams, the family members informed the police about the incident and by the time the police arrived, the accused fled from the spot. The police took the seriously injured Manoj to the CHC where the doctor declared him dead. As soon as the news of Manoj’s death spread, the angry villagers attacked the houses of the accused, then the police took charge and a heavy police administration reached the spot and turned the village into a cantonment. Police station in-charge Vikas Singh said that a case has been registered against Mohankheda resident Jiyalal wife Meera Devi, Ramprasad, Jhallu, Naval and 3 unknown people and investigation is being done.
