Complaint of substandard drain construction in Samadhan Diwas. Allegations of violation of standards have come to light regarding the construction of drain being done by the Panchayat Samiti in Nagar Panchayat Suchitaganj Khirouni. Ward councilor Farid Ahmed, while complaining about this construction work during Samadhan Diwas, has demanded an inquiry and construction to be done as per technical standards. The councilor alleged in the complaint letter that in ward number 3, drain is being constructed from Nimaicha turn through tehsil to railway crossing, which is completely against the standards. He said that PC is not being used in the construction, due to which the strength and durability of the drain has been questioned. Farid Ahmed also alleged that the same contractor had earlier done substandard work of ICC road in ward number 8. And a drain was constructed in ward number 5 Hol Purva which got washed away in a week. In spite of complaint in that case, payment was made to the contractor in connivance with the JE. The councilor has demanded from the administration that a high level investigation of the current drain construction should be conducted and the work should be completed as per the prescribed standards.
