*Major action on fertilizer shops: one sealed, one license suspended, notice to many* *Samples taken for quality check, raid by Agriculture Department on DM’s instructions* Lakhimpur Kheri On the instructions of DM Durga Shakti Nagpal, District Agriculture Officer Surya Pratap Singh inspected the Gola area on Thursday as part of the intensive inspection campaign of fertilizer shops. During the inspection, many irregularities came to light, on which strict action was taken immediately. During the inspection, show cause notices were issued to Verma Fertilizer and Verma Khad Bhandar after irregularities were found. At the same time, the stock of Ganesh Khad Bhandar was sealed. Fertilizer sample was taken from Dayal Krishi Fertilizer Complex, along with this, the sale there has been banned with immediate effect. The license of Ansari Khad Bhandar, Jalalpur was suspended after serious irregularities were found in the fertilizer. *If the shop is found closed despite having stock, the license will be cancelled: Agriculture Department’s warning* District Agriculture Officer Surya Pratap Singh said that if the private fertilizer seller’s shop is found closed despite having stock, then the license of the concerned person will be cancelled with immediate effect. He said that there will be no compromise with the interests of the farmers. Strict action will be taken against any fertilizer seller who violates the rules. *Strictness on arbitrariness in fertilizer distribution, complain in the control room* All the fertilizer sellers of the district have been directed to distribute fertilizers at the prescribed rate without any tagging. Farmers should be given the recommended amount of fertilizer according to their land holding and every farmer should be compulsorily provided the bill of fertilizer purchase. All sellers must open their sales centers from 10 am to 5 pm. If any seller acts arbitrarily or keeps the shop closed, then the farmers can lodge a complaint in the control room from 10 am to 5 pm.
