In Kanbhaipura Gram Panchayat of Anand taluka, wife Parulben Vinubhai Thakor was elected as Sarpanch. While in the Up Sarpanch election held on Friday, Vinubhai S Thakor was elected as Up Sarpanch. It is a coincidence that a husband and wife have been elected as Sarpanch and Up Sarpanch in Anand. However, such a coincidence was also formed in Virsad village of Borsad taluka and this year in Rangaipura village of Petlad taluka. It is worth mentioning here that Vinubhai Thakor has been dominant in the Gram Panchayat for the last five terms. Vinubhai Thakor has previously served as the District Committee President of Congress. After that, he joined BJP. During this time, he was also appointed as a co-opt member in the Education Committee District Panchayat Anand. He was the Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat from 2004 to 2015. While his wife Parulben was the Sarpanch from 2015 to 2023. He was also elected as a member of the Anand Taluka Panchayat. Sarpanch Parulben and Upsarpanch Vinubhai Thakor said that they have been working together with people of all castes of the village for years. First of all, efforts will be made to make the village Gokuli. Also, the remaining villages including drinking water, sewerage, blocks in the village will be filled. Also, the villagers were assured of providing benefits of government schemes and removing the ration card work. Also, a WhatsApp number has been written on the village board. On which any kind of representation or complaint will be made. It will be considered as an application made to the Gram Panchayat and it will be disposed of immediately. A village committee will be formed to discuss any question of the village and to resolve any mistake made by the Gram Panchayat. In which one person from each caste including educated youth, workers and other members of the village leadership will be selected. The village committee will hold a meeting every three months. In which all the issues of the village will be discussed and resolved.
