Government’s big step regarding women’s safety, now it is mandatory for the driver to write his name, Aadhaar and mobile number. State Women Commission member had written a letter to the government regarding women’s safety. Kanpur, for the safety of women, it will now be mandatory to write the name, Aadhaar number and mobile number of the driver on the vehicles running on the road including e-rickshaw, auto, Uber, Ola cab, Rapido, school van and tempo. Regarding women’s safety, State Women Commission member Babita Singh Chauhan has written a letter to the government and requested to take concrete steps for women’s safety. Taking cognizance of the letter of the Women’s Commission, the government directed UP Transport Commissioner B.N. Singh to get the details of all passenger vehicles running in the state written on the front and back. Under the guidelines of the government, the Transport Commissioner has issued a circular to all the RTO, ARTO and RI of the state and has issued an order to implement it. Let us tell you that Babita Singh Chauhan, member of the State Women’s Commission, had written a letter to the government stating that in view of the various incidents happening with women in the state, women’s safety should be ensured. Often, drivers of vehicles commit some incident with girls and women returning home after working late in the night in the cities. After the incident, it is very difficult to catch that vehicle and driver. But now, to prevent such incidents, it will be mandatory for the e-rickshaw, auto, Uber, Ola cab, Rapido and tempo drivers running on the road to write their name, Aadhaar number and mobile number in front and behind the vehicle. Regarding this, ARTO Administration Alok Kumar Singh said that action has been started immediately on the letter issued by the Transport Commissioner’s office. Now it will be mandatory to complete these formalities on privately run commercial vehicles. He said that a letter has been issued from the office to both the Motor Vehicle Inspectors of the office to ensure compliance of this order. Safety of women is the first priority RI Akanksha Singh said about the order issued from the Transport Commissioner’s office that it is the responsibility of all of us to give priority to women’s safety. Ola cab, e-rickshaw and tempo drivers often misbehave with women returning from work late at night and in some cases they commit some unpleasant incident. When the details are marked on the vehicles, to a large extent, incidents happening with women can be stopped.
