Along with comfortable travel, food and beverage facilities are being expanded at Kanpur Metro stations, tender issued for commercial space at new stations Kanpur Metro has always tried to make the journey of metro passengers safe and comfortable as well as enjoyable. In this series, Kanpur Metro has also ensured property development at all its metro stations. Currently, a total of 16 outlets have been opened in Corridor-1 of Kanpur Metro from IIT to Motijheel, which include outlets related to food and beverages as well as electronics and medicine. Apart from this, now the tender process has been started for setting up commercial space and kiosks at various stations from IIT to Kanpur Central. Food and shopping facilities at metro stations In order to expand passenger facilities, UPMRC is working towards opening outlets of many reputed commercial units at all 14 stations including 5 new metro stations and the tender process has also been started for this. People/institutions interested in opening shops/outlets at stations can get detailed information from UPMRC’s website upmetrorail.com. A total of 56 shops are available at 14 stations from IIT to Kanpur Central, including ground, concourse and platform, for which applications can be made through tender process from 29 July to 7 August. Opening of outlets on commercial space will make it even more enjoyable for passengers to travel by metro with friends and family. Apart from this, applications are also being invited to set up kiosks at 8 stations of Priority Corridor; IIT, Kalyanpur, SPM, Vishwavidyalaya, Gurudev Chauraha, Geeta Nagar, LLR Hospital and Moti Jheel. The total number of such spaces is 36 and the date of application for these is from 5 August to 18 August. Facilities for temporary stalls are also available at stations Facilities for setting up book fairs, NGOs and self-help groups and commercial temporary stalls are also available at Kanpur Metro stations. For NGOs and self-help groups, stalls can be set up at a rate of just โน500 per day and for commercial stalls, the rate is just โน1250 plus GST per day. For book fairs, stalls can be set up at a rate of just โน700 (200 sq. ft.), โน900 (300 sq. ft.) and โน1100 (400 sq. ft.) per day.
