More than half a dozen hand pumps are lying defunct in Brahmin village of Ajanpur Indauti Gram Panchayat of Rasulabad development block. Villagers have to struggle for water. Neither water is being supplied to Brahmin village from the water tank of Ajanpur Indauti nor have people been given connections under Har Ghar Jal Yojana. In such a situation, the villagers of the village are dependent on Indiamarka hand pumps for water, but their dependence has also been eclipsed. Most of the hand pumps in the village have been defunct for months and years. Rampal, a villager, said that the hand pumps have been defunct for many years and they have to struggle for water. A big scam was done in the name of reboring hand pumps. But the picture of hand pumps on the ground is still under question. Pradeep Rajput said that money was withdrawn several times in the name of reboring hand pumps. But the hand pumps were rebored only on paper and the government money was misappropriated by the village head and village secretary. The woman villager Somvati told that the hand pump has been out of order for many years. The village head and village secretary were informed about it many times but the problem was not solved despite complaints. The villagers allege that the responsible officer of the district, DPRO Vikas Patel, has been made the acting Block Development Officer of Rasulabad. But he also takes out time and sits sometimes. In such a situation, when people go to the development block premises to complain, the competent officers of the district are not found sitting there. This picture of the responsible officers of the district clearly shows their negligence towards their work. The villagers, who are facing the problem of water, made serious allegations against the responsible officers. When the acting Block Development Officer Vikas Patel tried to contact the DPRO several times by calling him regarding the entire matter, the call was not answered.
