A tragic incident took place on Thursday in Faridpur Sulem village of Charwa police station area. 38-year-old Rani Devi of the village was grinding masala on grinding stone in the courtyard of the house like every day. At around 12 noon, suddenly a poisonous snake came out of the bushes and reached her and bit her. As soon as she felt the snake bite, Rani Devi started screaming loudly. Hearing her scream, family members and neighbors ran. In a hurry, the family first took her to the village exorcist and got her exorcised, but within a short time her condition started deteriorating. Due to the rapid spread of poison in the body, the woman’s body started becoming numb and she became unconscious. Seeing her critical condition, the family immediately took her to a private hospital in Prayagraj, where doctors started treating her. But due to the spread of poison, the woman died during treatment on Friday morning. As soon as the news of the woman’s death reached the village, there was an uproar in the family. The deceased has three small children. The children are in a bad state due to crying and the husband also became unconscious. The villagers told that there are a lot of bushes and dirt around the village, due to which snakes and scorpions coming out has become a common thing. People have demanded cleanliness and regular spraying in the village from the administration. At the same time, the employees of the health department say that in cases of snakebite, getting exorcism done wastes time and increases the risk of life. In such cases, the patient should be brought to the hospital immediately, so that his life can be saved by giving antivenom injection in time. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the village after this incident. Everyone is saying that if the right treatment was given on time, Rani Devi’s life could have been saved.
