Thieves raid at night, steal Rs 2 lakh from businessman’s house

Auraiya. In Kiratpur village of Bidhuna police station area, thieves stole cash worth about two lakh rupees from a businessman’s house on Thursday night. Masked thieves entered Srinivas Gupta’s house from the back by climbing the roof. They took the house keys in their possession and searched the cupboard, but on not finding anything special, they went down to the shop. From there, they stole about Rs 1.75 lakh kept in the piggy bank and other items. While running away, they first tried to climb down using a sheet, on not succeeding, they tied Srinivas’s wife’s sari to an angle and jumped down. The theft was discovered in the morning when the sari was found on the roof and a bench near the back wall. On receiving information, Kotwali in-charge inspector Mukesh Babu Chauhan reached the spot with the police force and searched the CCTV footage. The police have assured to reveal the theft soon.
