Fatehpur Toll Ghotala: A huge scam has been exposed at Jindpur toll plaza situated on Banda-Tanda road in Fatehpur district of UP. Overloaded trucks were being passed without a slip by taking Rs. 700, due to which the toll company earned illegal profits of crores in the season. After investigation of the case, an FIR has been registered against two employees on the instructions of DM and questions are being raised on the functioning of the entire toll operation. The case was revealed by the SDM’s action, trucks passed without slips According to media reports, on July 1, SDM Sadar Archana Agnihotri made a shocking disclosure when she caught two trucks UP 71 BT 8132 and UP 71 BT 2487 loaded with gravel for overloading and made them stand at Shah Chowki. The surprising thing was that both the trucks had passed through Jindpur toll, but they did not have a toll slip. When the drivers were questioned, they told that the employees at the toll took Rs 700 each from them and passed the vehicles without slips. The investigation also revealed that the CCTV cameras of the toll premises were also switched off, which clearly shows that this work was being done in a planned manner. Revenue theft of crores in 6 months without any action Due to the negligence of the administration, this scam was carried out for a long time. The main season of Morang is from October 2024 to March 2025 and during this time illegal profits were made through overloading. According to estimates, every day about 200 overloaded trucks passed through the toll plaza without toll slips. Rs 700 was charged from each truck, which led to illegal earnings of about Rs 1.40 lakh daily. If we talk about six months, the toll company collected black money of about Rs 2.5 crore. CCTV off, employees gave false information When the SDM reached the toll plaza for investigation, the CCTV cameras there were found to be off. The employees also claimed that the trucks caught did not pass through their toll. Whereas the fact was that there was no other alternative route on that road beyond the toll. This clearly shows that this game was going on for a long time with the connivance of the employees. In this case, a case has been registered against toll employee Kapil Tiwari and an unknown person in Lalauli police station. Weight is recorded in the toll slip, slip was not cut intentionally When a truck crosses the toll plaza, the total weight of the vehicle is recorded in its slip. This process also makes it clear whether the vehicle is overloaded or not. But at Jindpur toll, slips of these trucks were deliberately not cut, due to which neither any weight was recorded nor revenue information was revealed. This is directly like throwing dust in the eyes of the administration, transport and mineral department. List not submitted even after repeated instructions from DM DM Ravinder Singh (IAS Ravinder Singh) had instructed the toll companies several times in the meetings of the Road Safety Committee to submit the list of overloaded vehicles to the Mineral and ARTO departments. But despite repeated orders, no toll company shared this list. This makes it clear that this scam was carried out in connivance with the toll companies and departmental officials. Toll management shrugged off the responsibility, FIR registered on the instructions of DM When the toll management was talked to about this entire scam, toll manager Ashok Tiwari distanced himself from the matter and said that the trucks may have gone through some other route or the employees may have taken money and taken them out. He talked about taking action, but now after the strictness of the administration, the case has been registered. The district administration has taken this matter seriously and has issued strict instructions to monitor toll operations in future.
