The highway was jammed when the businessman’s whereabouts were not known, passersby and the police had a verbal spat

Farrukhabad: (Rajepur) Family members of a businessman, who was not found for three days, blocked the Etawah-Bareilly highway with the help of Hindu organization leaders. There was a scuffle with the police personnel to clear the jam and the villagers also had a heated argument with the passersby to get out. The villagers also beat up some bikers. The police cleared the jam by assuring action. Ritesh Pal, son of late Matadin, a resident of Jamapur village of the police station area, is missing since yesterday. The family members, dissatisfied with the police action, first blocked the Badaun road with about two hundred villagers and then blocked the Etawah-Bareilly highway by putting up planks. This caused a long jam. Ambulances and cab passengers were also stranded. On receiving the information, CO Ajay Verma reached the spot with the police force and assured to find Ritesh within 24 hours. The protest was led by National President of Gauraksha Samiti Brahma Chetan, State President Abhay Singh etc. District President of Karni Sena Manthan Thakur also reached there. The jam was opened after the assurance of the CO. Amritpur CO Ajay Verma said that assurance of action has been given. The youth’s bike has been recovered. The missing person is being searched as soon as possible. Several police teams have been deployed.
