In Kanpur Dehat, Bhognipur police station has arrested the miscreant who committed robbery on bike riders on Wednesday evening during an encounter within just 24 hours. Meanwhile, another miscreant escaped from the spot taking advantage of the rain. In the encounter between the police and the miscreants, a constable was injured after being shot in the hand. He has been admitted to Pukhrayan CHC for treatment. On receiving the information of the incident, Superintendent of Police Arvind Mishra and Area Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh reached the hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured constable. On Wednesday evening, near the RSPL factory located in Hansemou village of Bhognipur Kotwali area, two bike-riding robbers snatched the bag from Rishabh Dwivedi’s wife and fled. Rishabh Dwivedi identified the miscreants and lodged a report of the case in Bhognipur police station. On Wednesday night, the police was conducting a checking campaign on Pilkhini Road. During this, two suspicious persons riding a bike were seen coming. When the police stopped them, the bike riders started running away. But when the police chased them, the miscreants opened fire on the police. In retaliatory action, the police opened fire and one miscreant was shot in the leg, while the other accomplice managed to escape from the spot by taking advantage of the rain. During this, a constable was shot in the hand. He has been admitted to Pukhrayan CHC for treatment. The arrested accused has been identified as Suraj, a resident of Pilkhini village of Bhognipur Kotwali area. The police have recovered a bike, pistol cartridges and some cash from the spot. According to the police, Suraj was wanted in a gangster case from Rura police station and about 15 serious criminal cases are registered against him. The injured miscreant has been admitted to Pukhrayan CHC. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Superintendent of Police Arvind Mishra, Circle Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh reached Pukhrayan CHC with the police force and took stock of the health of the injured constable. Superintendent of Police Arvind Mishra said that on Wednesday evening, he snatched the wife of Rishabh Dwivedi near RSPL factory and escaped. Robber Suraj was arrested by police in an encounter during checking late at night. One of his accomplices managed to escape taking advantage of the opportunity. The arrested miscreant has about 15 criminal cases registered against him and was wanted in gangster case from Rura police station. Police is searching for the absconding robber. He will be arrested soon.
