The condition of the secretariat in Thanhamirpur Gram Panchayat of Rasulabad development block is worrying. Only walls are built in the Panchayat building. The construction work has been incomplete for the last 4 years. Villagers have to go to Rasulabad development block 15 km away for essential documents like death certificate, birth certificate and copy of family register. The government had constructed Panchayat secretariats for the convenience of the villagers. Due to this, they do not have to go to the development block or headquarters. An important issue is the online attendance of the village secretary. According to the rule, the secretary has to mark attendance sitting in the Panchayat house. But when the Panchayat building itself is incomplete, then how is the secretary registering online attendance, this question is arising. When the village secretary Avinash Shukla was called regarding the whole matter. And an attempt was made to know the whole matter, he did not pick up the phone. The villagers complained several times, but the officials only conducted a formal investigation. ADO Panchayat Jaiprakash Shukla says that the matter is under investigation. He told that this is a 4-year-old case. He is also not aware of the purchase of computers, printers and other items in the Panchayat House. Despite the appointment of Panchayat Assistant, the Panchayat House is not being operated. Questions are also being raised on the items received for the Panchayat House. After all, where have the computers and other items disappeared? Block Development Officer, Acting DPRO Vikas Patel was called several times to know his reaction on the related matter but he did not pick up the phone. When we reached the office of Rasulabad Block Development Officer, he was found absent there as well.
