An important meeting was organized to promote women empowerment in Rasulabad development block under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. DC Gangaram of the mission held discussions with village heads, ration dealers and Anganwadi workers. DC Gangaram said that women groups will be formed in each village. These groups will include eligible households, Kisan Samman Nidhi beneficiaries, job card holders, Divyang pensioners, and beneficiary women of Pradhan Mantri-Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. One woman from each beneficiary family will be linked to the group. The five-member team of ICRP drive will stay in each village for 15 days. During this time they have to form six women groups. However, some challenges are also coming up. Many women are hesitant to submit Aadhar cards and other documents and are not showing interest in joining the group. To deal with this situation, the local administration has directed the village heads, ration dealers, panchayat assistants, Anganwadi workers and employment servants to cooperate in making women aware and linking them to the groups. Ram Asare, Jaichand, Jitendra Gautam, Naval Singh along with other ration dealers, village head and employment officers were present in the meeting.
