The anti-corruption team caught the accountant red-handed while taking bribe

Padrauna Kushinagar. On Wednesday evening, the Anti Corruption Gorakhpur team took an important action and arrested a Lekhpal red handed while taking bribe from Pakdiyar intersection of Nebua Naurangia police station area. The Lekhpal is accused of demanding a bribe of 10 thousand rupees from a poor laborer in lieu of filing a report in a land dispute. According to the information received, the accused Lekhpal Vinay Kumar Singh, resident of Matihania Khurd (Ravindranagar police station), is currently working in Madar Bindwalia village of Nebua Naurangia police station. A case related to the land of village resident Ashok Kumar is pending in the court. The Lekhpal demanded money from the victim to file a report in the same case. The victim laborer complained about this matter to the Anti Corruption Organization, Gorakhpur. Taking the complaint seriously, the team planned the action in a planned manner and on Wednesday caught the Lekhpal red handed while taking bribe at Pakdiyar Square. After the arrest, the accused was brought to the police station and questioned and a case has been registered against him under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 (Amendment Act 2018). In this regard, Anti Corruption Team in-charge Shiv Manohar Yadav confirmed that the accused has been caught taking bribe on the spot and further legal action is in process. In view of the seriousness of the case, the investigation is being carried forward rapidly.
