37 pot dyeing mills sealed in Limbayat, action taken against units discharging water into illegal drainage

Surat Municipal Corporation has sealed 37 illegal dyeing mills in Limbayat area. These units were illegally discharging chemical-rich water into the drainage. This strict action has been taken due to water pollution. Earlier, 22 dyeing mills were also sealed in Udhna area. Due to the increasing water pollution in Surat city, strict action is being taken by Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC). Recently, SMC has sealed 37 illegal dyeing mills in Limbayat area. These dyeing units were illegally discharging chemical-rich and colored water into the drainage, due to which the water sources of Surat were being seriously polluted. These units were given notices several times in the past, but still they continued their illegal activities. This strict action has been taken to prevent water pollution and protect the health of citizens. In addition to these 37 dyeing mills, 22 dyeing mills were also sealed in the Udhna area earlier. SMC officials have said that strict action will be taken against the dyeing units operating illegally in the coming time as well. Criminal action will be taken against the companies involved in illegal activities and their properties will also be seized. This action is expected to reduce water pollution in Surat city and provide clean water to the citizens. Such strict action by SMC is giving relief to the citizens of the city.
