Engine was not bad, maintenance was done, Air India CEO’s first reaction to Ahmedabad plane crash report

An Air India plane crashed in Ahmedabad on June 12. A month after the accident, the preliminary investigation report came on Saturday (July 12). Two days after the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) report came out, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson’s reaction has come out today. Wilson said – The AAIB report did not find any technical or maintenance-related problems in the plane or the engine. All maintenance work was done. Air India CEO Wilson said, ‘The preliminary investigation report released by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has shown that there was no maintenance problem in the plane or the engine in the plane crash that happened last month. All mandatory maintenance work was completed on the plane. No abnormalities were found in the fuel quality and take-off roll. The pilots passed all the breathalyzer tests before the flight. Nothing concerning was found during their medical examination either. Campbell Wilson further said, “All Air India Boeing 787 aircraft were inspected under the supervision of DGCA and all of them were found fit to fly. The investigation process is still ongoing and the initial report has not mentioned any reason or recommendation yet, so no conclusion should be drawn at this time.”
