Vande Bharat train to run on Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train track from 2027

In the country’s most ambitious Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed corridor, the Japanese bullet train will be replaced by a semi-high-speed Vande Bharat equipped with indigenous technology. This will be the first Vande Bharat train of Indian Railways, which will run at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. A decision will now be taken on when the bullet train will run between Mumbai-Ahmedabad at a speed of 320 kilometers per hour. Currently, more than 60 percent of the work on the bullet train track has been completed. A senior official of the Railway Ministry said, ‘The work on the 50-kilometer Surat-Bilimora section of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed corridor is in the final stage. Now the trial run of Vande Bharat will be started by the end of this year. After this, the common people will be able to travel by Vande Bharat-seated train by the year 2027. Two Vande Bharat trains of 8-8 coaches will be run. The maximum speed is 280 kilometers per hour, but it will run at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. In the MoU signed for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed Corridor project, the price of the Japanese bullet train was fixed at approximately Rs 16 crore per coach.
