Texas flood death toll rises to 120: Thousands pay tribute

At least 120 people have died and more than 160 are still missing in the worst Fourth of July flooding in five decades in Hill County, Texas, USA. A memorial service was held in Kerrville in honor of the dead and thousands of people participated in it. President Trump is also scheduled to come to Texas to express his condolences to the dead. 27 girls from Camp Mystic in Kerr County are said to have been trapped with their counselor. In addition, five other campers and their counselor are still missing. Rescuers are said to have rescued more than 300 people, but they have now given up hope of finding anyone alive. Ricky Pruitt, pastor of the Kerrville Church, said that people have come here to express their sympathy for the dead and to pay their heartfelt tributes to them. He said that tonight is more sad than many other nights. The previous record was 144 deaths in Texas in 1976. The flooding occurred in Big Thompson Canyon, Colorado. Officials are seeking details on who else was affected in the popular tourist destination of Hill County.
