Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved another historic achievement. He has become the first Indian Prime Minister to be honoured with the highest civilian honour by more than 26 countries of the world. Recently, Ghana and Brazil have conferred the most prestigious civilian award on him. The Government of Ghana has honoured Prime Minister Modi with the ‘Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana’. This award was given to him for his global leadership skills and significant contribution in strengthening India-Ghana relations. Earlier, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva had honoured Prime Minister Modi with the country’s highest honour ‘Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross’. This honour was given to him for strengthening India-Brazil bilateral relations. After becoming Prime Minister in 2014, Narendra Modi has been receiving honours from many countries. Many Muslim-majority countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Palestine, Kuwait have also honoured him with their highest awards. So far, 26 countries have honoured Prime Minister Modi with their highest civilian honour. This includes countries from Asia, Europe, Africa, Gulf countries, Oceania and America. Prime Minister Modi has been receiving this honour from one country or the other every year since 2016. Calling himself ‘Pradhan Sevak’, Prime Minister Modi is taking the aspirations and dreams of development of 140 crore people of the country to the international stage.
