Nirona Dam, which provides irrigation facilities to thousands of acres of land in eight villages of Powerpatti, was welcomed by overflowing for the third consecutive year. Apart from Nirona, Nirona Dam, which provides irrigation facilities to 8000 acres of land in Gamon including Bibbar, Palanpur, Bari, Orira, Medisar, Vedhar, Amargarh, Haripura, Amrit Farm, Laxmi Farm, is considered the lifeline of the area. People believe that the monsoon season is incomplete until the dam overflows. After the Mahamedh Meher that has been raining on Kutch for the last three years, the Nirona Dam overflowed for the third consecutive year, and people were happy. After the dam overflowed last night, drums were beaten in joy at the Fulpirdada Samadhi Complex in Nirona village this morning. Sarpanches and leaders of the villages of the area gathered and exchanged greetings for the dam. From where people reached the gate of the dam with many small and big vehicles. Bibber, Mahant Jagjivan Dasji Maharaj of Ravibhan Ashram considered the tradition of greeting the dam after Megh Mehar a festival and said that God’s grace has been showering on Kutch for the last few years.
