Delhi government makes U-turn on ban on year-old vehicles, now a new policy will be made

New Delhi has withdrawn the decision to close vehicles under the End of Life Vehicle (ELV) policy implemented from July 1. Delhi government’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa wrote a formal letter to the CAQM (Commission for Air Quality Management) of the Pollution Department on the issue of the ELV rule implemented in New Delhi, highlighting its major shortcomings and announcing the decision to withdraw it. Due to which a demand has arisen to review this rule. The government said that it is currently impossible to implement this rule in Delhi. Because the public has had to face hardship due to it. Since there are practical challenges, it will not be implemented in Delhi until this rule is implemented uniformly in the entire NCR. So now 15-year-old vehicles will again get petrol-diesel. The state government had issued an order prohibiting the supply of petrol-diesel under this rule, imposing a ban on 15-year-old vehicles.
