Today, for the first time during the Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad, a Gajraj became uncontrollable, creating chaos. The elephants were distracted by the loud DJ. For the first time, three Gajrajs had to be taken out of the Rath Yatra. When the Yatra was passing through the old and crowded Khadia area of Ahmedabad, suddenly one of the 16 Gajrajs, the center of attraction walking in front of the chariot, lost its balance. For a moment, everyone present there was stunned. As soon as the elephant became uncontrollable, an atmosphere of panic and chaos was created among the people. If this elephant had become uncontrollable and entered the crowd, there could have been a major loss of life. But, teams of doctors, police and forest department immediately reached the spot. They quickly and tactfully controlled the elephant. Two-three people have suffered minor injuries. Ahmedabad Zoo Director Dr. R. K. Shahu said in an exclusive interview with Janmabhoomi Patra that we check all the elephants before the Rath Yatra, after which we also give a fitness certificate to show whether the elephant is fit to be taken among the crowd or not. In this Rath Yatra, one male and 16 female elephants out of 17 elephants were completely checked, but during the Rath Yatra, due to the DJ playing at a volume above a certain decibel, the male elephant got startled and tried to run away, and two other female elephants also followed him, due to which an atmosphere of panic was created. Animals behave like this if the volume is above a certain decibel, but we have controlled them and shifted them to the right place, removed them from the Rath Yatra.
