With the arrival of Ashadh, the minds of the Kutchis become happy. The land and people, scorched by the intense heat of summer, are waiting for the rains… and if the omens of the Ashadhi seed are preserved, then the waves of joy return. The arrival of the Kutch New Year is all about rain… The strong reason for this is that the culture of Kutch, the happiness and sorrows of the people’s life depend on the kindness of the Megharaja. That is why Kutch is called the land of Meghatrishna. Now the waters of Narmada are reviving the far-flung districts of Kutch. In the coming years, dams, lakes, small and big reservoirs will start filling with the waters of Narmada. The tide of development is rising on the horizon and its waves are being felt. The importance of the Ashadhi seed that comes at such a difficult time is immense. After four years, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, who is the Nath, will spend the night in a border village at the very end of Kutch and will participate in the folk festival by attending the carnival on the banks of Hamirsar in Bhuj city. Narendrabhai Modi kept coming to Kutch on Ashadhi Bij until he became the Prime Minister and went to Delhi. The carnival was organized continuously from 2005 to 2013. This time, popular MP Vinod Chavda took the initiative and Bhupendrabhai Patel has accepted the invitation of Kutch. Kutch is a very special region not only of the entire Gujarat but also of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come to Bhuj exactly a month ago on 26th May to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor, when he extended advance greetings of Ashadhi Bij to the Kutch people in a meeting filled with more than one lakh people. Shri Modi, recalling his old ties with Kutch, said, “The history, culture, nature of this land are all unique. Kutch, once famous for migration, has now become a source of livelihood and huge income for workers from outside to industrialists. The initiative of the carnival, which Modi started when he was the Chief Minister, has been taken up by the MP this time. In fact, the carnival needs to be intertwined with the celebration of Ashadhi Bij. It is necessary for the municipality to take up this responsibility, pass a resolution and weave it into the annual plan of Bhuj.”
May God do this… May the clouds of development rain down on Kutch continuously.
