Just as airbags have become mandatory in cars, now anti-lock braking system (ABS) is being made mandatory in bikes. The safety of bikers on the road has always been a matter of concern. A rule has been implemented for bikers to wear helmets for their safety. However, apart from this, there is no other rule for their safety. Therefore, the government is now making a rule for companies. Under this rule, it is mandatory to have ABS in every bike from now on. A notification will be issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways very soon. According to this rule, from January 2026, it is mandatory to have ABS in every bike and scooter, i.e. every two-wheeled vehicle. No matter how much CC the bike’s engine is, it will be necessary to have ABS. ABS stands for Anti-Lock Braking System. This is a safety feature. This feature was in cars till now and is now coming in high-end bikes. Along with premium bikes, this feature will now be given in every bike. The function of ABS is to prevent the wheels from locking. When the driver applies the brakes hard in an emergency, the wheels can lock. Therefore, this feature is provided to prevent the wheels from locking. If the wheels lock, there is a risk of the bike or car sliding. Therefore, this feature is provided to prevent the slide and to maintain the balance of the vehicle.
Now anti-lock braking system will be mandatory in two-wheelers across the country, the Center will bring a new rule
