Gujarat Rain: With the arrival of the southwest monsoon in Gujarat, Meghraja is pouring down rain. In the last 24 hours, 101 talukas in the state received rain. In which 30 talukas received rain ranging from 1 to 7 inches. The highest rainfall of seven inches was recorded in Vapi of Valsad. Pardi of Valsad received five and a quarter inches of rain, while Kaprada received five inches. Due to heavy rain, a total of 1060 people have been evacuated in four districts so far, while 189 people have been rescued. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Dang-Navsari-Valsad on Friday (June 20) while an orange alert has been issued in Dahod-Mahisagar-Bharuch-Surat-Tapi. Due to the heavy rain, 13 NDRF and 20 SDRF teams have been deployed. Due to heavy rains, 89 people have been rescued from Bhavnagar, 69 from Amreli, 24 from Botad, 7 from Gandhinagar. On the other hand, 729 from Bhavnagar, 117 from Surendranagar, 117 from Botad and 80 from Amreli have been evacuated. As of the afternoon of June 19, 196 roads including 3 State Highways in Surendranagar, 1 in Anand and 1 National Highway in Bhavnagar are closed for vehicular traffic. Out of which 60 roads in Bhavnagar and 49 roads in Valsad are closed.
