Huge ‘scam’ in Surat: Entire bus passengers caught travelling without tickets

Surat Municipal Corporation has taken steps to prevent ticket theft in city and BRTS buses by collecting fines and suspending and blacklisting the driver conductor. Although the municipality has started aggressive work, it has not had any effect on the driver conductor and on the second day of checking, it has come to light that an entire bus was not given tickets by taking money. Today, since there were no tickets, the municipality also collected a fine of Rs 22680 and suspended the conductor. To curb the ticket scam that is taking place in Surat Municipal Corporation’s city and BRTS buses, a meeting was held yesterday by the municipality and City Link before taking strict steps. In which, on the first day, 15 passengers were found without tickets and a fine of Rs 1500 was collected from them. After that, on the second day of checking, it was revealed that the conductor was still not giving tickets by taking money from the passengers.
