US President Donald Trump’s administration is planning to expand its travel ban policy, which could include a ban on citizens from 36 more countries, according to a Reuters report. The list includes many African, Caribbean and Central Asian countries. According to internal US State Department correspondence, Trump issued an order at the start of his second term this year to ban citizens from 12 countries, saying it was necessary to protect the US from foreign terrorists and other national security threats. That includes sending hundreds of Venezuelan citizens back to El Salvador on suspicion of terrorism, as well as efforts to prevent some foreign students from registering at US universities and deport others. These 36 countries include Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cรดte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Dominica, Ethiopia, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, South Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
