The highest rainfall was recorded in Umarpada in Surat district, 3.50 inches in just 4 hours, and 3 inches in Dang Ahwa. People get relief from the storm with thunder and lightning The Meteorological Department had predicted that there will be heavy rain from June 14th and 15th. Amidst this forecast, on Sunday (June 15th) afternoon, heavy rain began in Surat city and district with thunder and lightning. In the 4 hours from 2 pm to 6 pm, 3.50 inches of rain fell in Umarpada, 1.75 inches in Kamrej, 1.50 inches in Mangrol and 1 inch in Surat city, including Meghraja. On Sunday (June 15), an average of half an inch of rain fell in Valsad district in 10 hours from 6 am to 4 pm. In which 2.5 inches of rain fell in just four hours from 12 noon to 4 pm in Umargam, causing waterlogging at many places. Tapi district received rain with thunder and lightning on Saturday (June 14) evening. Songadh received 1 inch of rain in 2 hours from 12 midnight to 2 am. Heavy to very heavy rain forecast for 6 days According to the weather department’s forecast, an orange alert has been issued in the state today regarding heavy to very heavy rain with thunder and lightning in Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad districts. While a yellow alert has been issued in scattered places of Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Morbi, Rajkot, Botad, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Anand, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Narmada districts due to heavy rain. Forecast for June 17th The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in Bhavnagar on June 17th and a yellow alert in Kutch, Morbi, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Amreli, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Ahmedabad, Anand, Kheda, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad districts due to heavy rain. Forecast for June 18th and 19th A yellow alert has been issued in the state on June 18th in Kutch, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Surat, Tapi, Navsari, Dang, Valsad districts and on June 19th in Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar districts due to heavy rain with thunder and lightning. While there is a warning of heavy rain in Navsari and Valsad districts on June 20th and 21st.
