On June 12, an Air India Dreamliner crashed into a medical college hostel while flying from Ahmedabad to London. There were 242 people on board the plane. Only one passenger survived. In addition, many people present there have also died since the plane crashed into the medical college hostel. Earlier, the Tata Group had announced a financial assistance of Rs. 1 crore to the family of each passenger who lost their lives in the accident. Now, the Tata Group has also clarified that a financial assistance of Rs. 1 crore will be provided to those who lost their lives in the college hostel premises. Many doctors, medical students, hospital staff and many people living in the Meghaninagar area near the airport were among the dead present in the building premises when the plane crashed into the medical college hostel. Therefore, the Tata Group has clarified that, ‘In addition to the passengers and crew members on board the plane, the people present in the building premises at the time of the accident are also eligible for compensation.’ In addition, the Tata Group has also announced that, ‘We will also bear the medical expenses of those injured in the accident, so that the injured can get the necessary help and care. Not only this, the Tata Group will also help in the reconstruction of the BJ Medical Hostel, which was badly damaged in the Dreamliner accident.’ Also, in addition to the assistance of Rs 1 crore provided by the Tata Group, the families of the passengers who died in the accident will also get compensation from the insurance companies.
