Surat Corporation: The school session of the Surat Municipal Corporation-run Nagar Primary Education Committee has started and instead of educating the students, the teachers have been re-engaged with extracurricular activities. Instead of educating the students in the school, the emphasis has been given to many activities like going to get books, distributing boots, socks and uniforms along with the books. Due to which, even after four days of the start of the session, the teachers are not able to make the students study. There is discontent among the teachers as the teachers have to do the work of the peon and peon category. Before the vacation, the Surat Education Committee had to shift some dilapidated schools. Since the municipality did not allocate a belldar for this work, this work also fell on the teachers. Since the structural stability of about 20 school buildings in Surat was weak, instructions were given to merge the schools with other schools. However, the municipality has to allocate vehicles and a bellman for the school shifting work, but since that was not possible, the teachers themselves called private laborers to carry out the school shifting work.
