Karnataka government blames BCCI

The Karnataka government has blamed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the stampede in Bengaluru. The Karnataka government told the High Court on Wednesday that no permission was taken for the event and that the organisers had invited the “entire world” to attend the event through social media. The High Court is hearing a plea challenging the legality of the arrest of RCB marketing head Nikhil Sosale and four others. Sosale has termed his arrest as illegal. Sosale had argued in the court on June 10 that the police officers were only suspended, not arrested. Why did they do this to only me? On June 4, 11 people died in a stampede during RCB’s Victory Parade outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. 33 people were injured. 3 to 4 lakh cricket fans came here to watch the players, which was far more than the stadium’s capacity.
