Anand: The Health and Sanitation Department of Anand Municipal Corporation conducted a random inspection of public hygiene at Akshardham Gujarati Thal and Alpha Restaurant on Anand Vidyanagar Road, Jai Jhulelal Bakery on 100 feet road, and Mastana Dabeli’s Production House on 100 feet road. During this inspection, serious defects that harm public health have been observed at Akshardham Gujarati Thal and Alpha Restaurant, Jai Jhulelal Bakery, and Mastana Dabeli’s Production House, which are extremely dangerous for the public health of the citizens. The team of the Health Department of the Municipal Corporation, Medical Officer of Health, Sanitary Inspector and team conducted a detailed inspection at these units and found serious defects such as use of single-use plastic, breeding of mosquitoes, and lack of cleanliness. Thus, these units have been found to be violating the rules. This matter poses a threat to the health of the citizens, so a fine of Rs 25 thousand for public health and Rs 10 thousand for the use of single-use plastic, totaling Rs 35 thousand, from Akshardham Gujarati Thal for public health, Rs 25 thousand for the use of single-use plastic, and an additional Rs 5,000/- for the generation of malaria, totaling Rs 35 thousand, from Alpha Restaurant for public health, Rs 5,000/- for the use of single-use plastic, and an additional Rs 5,000/- for the generation of mosquitoes, totaling Rs 55 thousand, and from Jai Jhulelal Bakery for health-related negligence, Rs 25 thousand for the use of single-use plastic, and an additional Rs 3,000/- for the generation of mosquitoes, totaling Rs 30 thousand, and administrative charges have been collected on the spot. Thus, a total amount of Rs 1.55 lakh has been collected from all these units as administrative charges on the spot as per the provisions of the law. According to the instructions given to these units, if necessary hygiene measures are not taken within 15 days, these units will be forced to be sealed, said Dr. Rajesh Patel. According to Dr. Rajesh Patel, Medical Officer of the Health Department of Anand Municipal Corporation, if public health is threatened by food and beverage units in the municipal area, a surprise visit will be made to such hotels, lorries, stalls, shops, restaurants, bakeries, and legal action will be taken against them as per the provisions of the law. Hotels, restaurants and food and beverage units in the Anand Municipal Corporation area have been requested to maintain the necessary hygiene.
