According to the circular issued by the municipal government after the declaration of the municipal corporation, the price has increased fourfold, that is, to Rs 1,000. However, earlier, if the citizens ordered a water tanker at home, the average charge was 250 to 300. With this sudden increase, there has been a decrease of more than 50 percent in the demand for tankers. The facility of water tankers for the needs of the citizens has been available through the Anand Municipal Corporation since the municipal government. Regarding this, the municipal official said that according to the municipal circular, there is a price for a water tanker. Now that Anand has been included in the municipal corporation, the price of a water tanker has been increased as per its circular. Earlier it was Rs 250, now those who order a 4 thousand liter water tanker will have to pay Rs 1000. Also, if they want to keep the tanker for more than a day, its charge has been fixed at Rs 1800. Earlier, under the municipal rule, since the price of water tankers was low, the townspeople used to order them for some occasion or construction. Big traders and builders also used to register tankers. But now due to the increase in the charge, the demand for tankers has decreased by 50 percent. Regarding this, the municipal official said that the price of a tanker in the municipal corporations including Vadodara is Rs 2500. The price has been kept 60 percent lower than that.
