After the formation of three Gram Panchayat Samaras in the taluka, elections were held in six Gram Panchayats today. The villagers enthusiastically used their franchise to decide the candidate of their choice. In this election, Vijpasar, Lakhavat and Kankhoi Gram Panchayat Samaras were formed. Voting process was conducted through ballot papers in Gharana, Juna Kataria, Lakhpat, May, Kakarwa and Ganeshpar (Khadir) from this morning. In Gharana, the villagers used their franchise to decide the post of Sarpanch and membership of their choice. Queues of voters were seen outside the polling station till late. Meanwhile, complaints were raised about the slow voting process here. Till evening, a total of 2673 people, including 1393 men and 1280 women, voted for 3090 voters. In May, 1228 out of a total of 1709 voters cast their votes for the post of Sarpanch and one member, including 651 men and 577 women. In Juna Kataria, queues were seen outside the polling station to elect their preferred candidate. Till evening, a total of 2226 to 1638 people offered sacrifices on the occasion of Lokshahi. In Ganeshpar, the villagers celebrated Lokshahi with enthusiasm to elect a new village chief. Out of a total of 903, 865 people voted, including 462 men and 403 women. Voting was held in Kakarwa for the Sarpanch and member elections, in which 1459 out of a total of 1774 voters cast their votes, and in Lakhpat, 937 out of 1297 people voted in the Sarpanch and four ward elections. The voter turnout was 71.85 percent in My village, 95.79 percent in Ganeshpar village, 82.24 percent in Kakarwa, 72.24 percent in Lakhpat, 73.58 percent in Juna Kataria, and 86.50 percent in Gharana. On the occasion of Lokshahina, men, women, and elders cast their precious votes. There was great enthusiasm among the villagers regarding the elections. Candidates were seen working hard to take voters to the polling station. By evening, the candidates’ fates were sealed in the ballot boxes. The counting of votes will be conducted on the 25th. The administration was delighted with the peaceful completion of voting in the rural areas.
