Amarnath Yatra, a symbol of power, devotion and enthusiasm, is going to give a booster dose of about 400 crores to the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. This yatra is proving to be a boon to Kashmir’s tourism, which has been derailed after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. About 48 thousand devotees have visited the holy cave in the first three days of Amarnath Yatra. Looking at the enthusiasm of the devotees, it can be estimated that about four lakh devotees will visit this yatra that will last for 38 days. This yatra is providing direct employment to the most horse, palanquin, tent drivers, small shopkeepers and taxi drivers, which means that the money will go directly to the common man. In Jammu and Kashmir, in the special valley, hotel transport shopkeepers, traders and small shopkeepers working at tourist spots were sitting with hope for the Amarnath Yatra. In Jammu, around the base camp or Balghat Pahalgaon, small shopkeepers selling warm clothes, rain umbrellas, bags and other tourist goods are happy with the turnout. Altaf Ahmed, who has been working as a porter on the Balghat route for eight years, said that we hope for a good turnout in the Amarnath Yatra. We do agriculture and earn 70-80 thousand during this journey so that we can spend four to five months. Amarnath pilgrims pass through Lakhanpur, the entrance gate of Jammu and Kashmir, via Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Udhampur, Ramban and Srinagar, Anantnag, Ganderbal districts.
Blessings of Baba Barfani! Amarnath Yatra benefits Jammu and Kashmir’s economy by Rs 400 crore
