Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for BRICS to act as a driving force for global cooperation and to become an exemplary group of countries in a multidimensional world and to meet the expectations of the Global South. Addressing the 17th BRICS Summit, he recommended strengthening cooperation in the fields of multidimensional world, economic, financial, artificial intelligence. He said that the strength of BRICS is its diversity and its commitment to a multidimensional world. We should see how BRICS plays its role in a multidimensional world. The time has come for it to play such a role. It is becoming a driving force. He stressed that BRICS will have to improve its internal system so that people around the world take BRICS seriously. In a post on social media, he said that first we should improve our internal system so that BRICS is taken seriously on the world stage. We should make multidimensional reforms. For this, economic cooperation between the countries within BRICS should continue to grow at a steady rate. While approving the project of BRICS’ New Development Bank (NDB), emphasis was placed on demand-oriented decision-making, long-term financial stability and maintaining a healthy credit rating. Stressing the need to meet the expectations of the Global South, Prime Minister Modi said that BRICS should conduct research in agriculture and science. The Global South has expectations from us. We should work as an example to meet this expectation. Along with this, he talked about the establishment of the BRICS Agricultural Research Platform in India. It can become an important bridge for exchange in agri-biotech, precision farming and climate. He also talked about the BRICS Science and Research Repository, so that other developing countries can benefit from it.
