CBSE Class 10th exams will be conducted twice a year from 2026!

From 2026, CBSE Class 10 students will be able to take the exam twice a year. However, for this, the students will have to take the first exam in February compulsorily, officials said in a statement. The second exam will be held in May. The second exam will be optional. Students who want to improve their performance can take this exam. If the student takes both the exams, the mark sheet of the exam in which the higher marks are scored will be considered valid. It is worth mentioning that the new National Education Policy (NEP) recommended taking the exam twice a year. Based on this recommendation, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has allowed the Class 10 board exam to be held twice. CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said that the first exam will be held in February while the second exam will be held in May. The results of the first exam will be declared in April while the results of the second exam will be declared in June. He further said that it is mandatory for students to appear for the first examination while appearing for the second examination is optional. Students will be allowed to improve their marks in any three subjects from Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Languages.
