China and Pakistan, the first to open a front against India, are preparing to play a new diplomacy. According to the report, Pakistan and China are working on a proposal to form a new regional organization. This new organization will reduce the importance of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). This project has been brought by China and Pakistan is supporting it. China recently organized a meeting of representatives of Pakistan, Bangladesh and China. According to the news published in a local Pakistani newspaper quoting political sources, negotiations between Islamabad and Beijing are in the final stages. The two sides have agreed to form a new organization for regional integration and communication. This new organization can potentially replace the regional bloc SAARC. SAARC includes India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. China is not a member of SAARC. But by creating a new organization, China wants to exert diplomatic and strategic influence over the countries of South Asia. All the countries of SAARC have close economic relations with China. SAARC, a powerful organization of South Asian countries, has become just a name today. Its biennial summit has not been held since the last summit held in Kathmandu in 2014. The 2016 SAARC summit was to be held in Islamabad. But after the terrorist attack on an Indian army camp in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir on September 18 that year, India refused to participate in the summit, citing “current circumstances”. After India’s refusal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Afghanistan also refused to come to the conference to be held in Islamabad. Finally, Pakistan had to cancel the conference.
