The BRICS summit is to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil next month, and reports have emerged that Chinese President Xi Jinping is not going to attend. If this happens, then Jinping will be absent from the summit for the first time since he assumed the presidency 12 years ago. According to a report by the Hong Kong-based China Morning Post, Jinping will not participate in the BRICS summit to be held in Brazil. China is upset with Modi’s honor! The BRICS summit is to be held on July 6 and 7, in which Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang will be present instead of Jinping. According to the report, a state dinner is being organized for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during this time. According to speculations, China is upset that Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva hosted a state dinner for PM Modi after the summit, due to which they have made an excuse that they do not like the schedule of the BRICS summit and have made plans to stay away from the summit. Five additional member countries Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have also been included in this group. The BRICS summit held in Kazan, Russia last year became important for India and China, as it saw a meeting between Modi and Jinping. With this meeting, India-China relations emerged from the dispute in eastern Ladakh and have moved forward again towards strengthening bilateral relations.
