Koday (T. Mandvi), T. 19: During the presentation of various public issues including mid-day meal, embezzlement of old utensils, water and sewerage problems, the city-taluka Congress representatives at Mandvi Municipality were surrounded with fierce protests. Congress President Kheraj Gadhvi had alleged that there was corrupt governance in the Municipality and told about the problems faced by the citizens. It was said that the rain drain in Babawadi had collapsed due to recent rains. It was complained that the work had not been completed despite the monsoon grant. Opposition leader of Mandvi T.P. Arvindsinh Jadeja demanded that the issues related to water, sewerage and lake development be resolved and strict action be taken against those responsible for corruption. Following this, anger was expressed that the authorities should take concrete action on various issues. The atmosphere became heated due to the fierce opposition and the police were forced to detain the Congress workers. After the detention of the Congress leaders, they were taken to the police station. Working President Akbar Mandhara, Punit Joshi, Adambhai Thaim, Kalpanaben Joshi, Abdul Agariya, Asif Sumra, Umar Bhatti, Bhavanaben Goswami joined this fierce representation. The list said that Chief Officer Jignesh Barot had made the representations.
