A grand cooperative conference was held at Dudh Nagri Anand in the presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel on the occasion of the fourth foundation day of the Union Ministry of Cooperation. Inaugurating various development works of the world famous Amul Dairy, Shri Shah called for expanding cooperative activities nationwide with the five Ps of People, Packs, Platform, Policy and Prosperity. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the extension plant of Amul Dairy for chocolate, milk, curd and mozzarella cheese. Along with this, Maniben Patel’s building was also inaugurated at the headquarters of NDDB. The foundation of the National Organization of Milk Cooperative Societies of the country has also been laid by these two dignitaries. They presented the registration certificate of Sardar Patel Cooperative Milk Dairy Federation and unveiled the logo. Apart from this, the registration letter of the Kutch Salt Producers Cooperative Society, which was started with the noble aim of involving the eleven working in the Rann of Kutch in cooperative activities, was also awarded. In this conference, Shri Shah mentioned the achievements of the cooperative sector and said that the tradition of cooperation has been going on since Vedic times. Our cooperative tradition of sitting, eating, working, thinking and living together has been given legal form by Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi in 2021 by establishing the Ministry of Cooperatives. 31 crore members are associated with more than 8.40 lakh societies. These societies are contributing to the economic development of the country in sectors like milk, banking, sugar mills and digital payments. More than 60 initiatives have been taken in the four years of this ministry. At the beginning, he paid tribute to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his 124th birth anniversary. He said that Shyama Prasadji played an important role in making West Bengal a part of India and Kashmir an integral part of the country. He sacrificed himself with the slogan of โTwo flags, two laws, two ministers will not work in one countryโ. He resigned from Pandit Nehruโs cabinet and founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which is today the largest political party in the world with 12 crore members. The Chief Minister expressed pride in the achievements of the cooperative sector of Gujarat and said that Gujarat had led the non-cooperation movement in the freedom struggle, and today it is also a leader in cooperatives. The stateโs cooperative sector has a turnover of Rs. Four lakh crore, more than 27 lakh new bank accounts have been opened and more than Rs. 12000 crore deposits have been made. Milk production is being collected at 325 lakh litres per day, and the number of women-run milk societies has increased by 21 per cent and their income has increased by 43 per cent. The Chief Minister, while praising the four-year success of the Ministry of Cooperation established under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi, congratulated the Minister of Cooperation Shri Amitbhai Shah for realizing the mantra of โProsperity through Cooperationโ and said that the Ministry of Cooperation has done significant work in strengthening the rural economy, connecting farmers, animal husbandry and women with cooperative activities, which has become a new model in the development of the country.
