The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action against 29 well-known film actors, YouTubers and Instagram influencers from Telangana. All of them have been booked for promoting illegal betting apps. The list includes big names from the film industry like Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Manchu Lakshmi, Nidhi Agarwal, Pranitha Subhash, Ananya Nagalla, Anchor Srimukhi, YouTuber Harsha Sai, Bayya Sunny Yadav and many popular faces like Local Boy Nani. They are accused of being involved in the betting app scam. In which the ED has registered a case based on the FIR of the Hyderabad Cyberabad Police and the role of the film stars involved in the investigation is being investigated. This whole matter started with a complaint from a businessman from Miyapur, Phanindra Sharma. He alleged that many well-known film actors and social media stars are luring people towards betting apps. Due to such apps, middle class and lower-middle class families are suffering huge losses. Based on this complaint, Cyberabad Police registered an FIR against 29 celebrities on March 19, 2025. ED has filed an ECIR (Enforcement Case Information Report) under PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) in this entire case. ED is currently investigating in this case how much fee the celebrity promoted, how the payment was made and what are their tax details etc.
