Dhandhuka: Due to heavy rains in Dhandhuka Panthak, the Bhadar river in Dhandhuka overflowed after the gates of Bhadla Dam were opened. Due to which the villages on the banks of the river were alerted and relief and rescue operations were carried out. While in Adwal village, an old man died tragically when the roof of a house collapsed. Due to heavy rains in Dhandhuka taluka, the gates of Bhadla Dam were opened after the level rose by 70 percent. Due to which an alert was given to the villages of Vagad, Morsia, Gunjar, Kotda, Rangpur and Adwal on the banks of the river. The administration appealed to the people living on the banks of the river to move to a safe place. In Dhandhuka city, the river water rose in the low-lying areas near the crematorium, plot area, Gulistan Society and other areas. Vehicular traffic was stopped for some time due to waterlogging on the Limdi three-way-Ahmedabad highway. As the road was closed, officials of the R&B department, Mamlatdar, and police staff rushed to the spot. While an elderly woman named Parvatiben Panara (aged 95) living in Adwal village was sleeping in a thatched hut next to her house at night. At that time, the roof suddenly collapsed and fell on her, causing serious injuries and Parvatiben Panara died.
