An ambitious plan is being prepared with the aim of accelerating the development of Kanpur city and reducing the increasing traffic pressure on VIP Road. Under this plan, a 4-lane Ganga Path road of about 9 kms will be built connecting the proposed new bridge in Shuklaganj to Atal Ghat. This road will be connected to the river front on the lines of Patna Ganga Path. Division Commissioner K. Vijayendra Pandian has given instructions to the officials of Setu Nigam to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) of this important project. The Commissioner informed that a team of officials of Public Works Department, Irrigation Department, Setu Nigam, KDA, and Municipal Corporation Kanpur, under the leadership of coordinator Neeraj Srivastava, recently visited the Patna Ganga Path River Front project to study this multipurpose project. After the visit, the committee has prepared appropriate recommendations for the Kanpur project and sent a proposal to the government as per the provisions of NGT etc. This proposal has been included in the plans sent to the government under “Vision 2050”. In the course of the review being done by the government, now the responsibility of preparing the DPR of this project has been handed over to Setu Nigam, which will be coordinated by Neeraj Srivastava. To prepare the DPR quickly and meaningfully, Neeraj Srivastava will get the necessary inputs from the consultants of Bihar State Path Vikas Nigam and Patna Ganga Path Yojana. This project will not only improve the traffic system of Kanpur, but will also prove to be a milestone in terms of beautification and tourism of the city.
Ganga Path road and river front will be constructed from Shuklaganj to Atal Ghat and DPR will be prepared.
